Implementation
Health and Wellbeing activities take place every Friday afternoon and are delivered through a structured programme of activities linked to students’ weekly achievement.
Throughout the week, students are awarded points for demonstrating positive behaviour, effort and engagement. These are carefully tracked and converted into a percentage, which determines the range of activities students are able to access.
This approach:
- Reinforces clear expectations and consistency
- Promotes accountability and self-reflection
- Encourages positive behaviour and sustained effort over time
Students take part in a wide range of inclusive activities, including:
- Sports and physical activities to promote health and teamwork
- Outdoor and Forest School opportunities to support regulation and wellbeing
- Creative activities such as art, crafts and design
- Music provision, including guitars, drums and therapeutic instruments
- Cooking and life skills to develop independence
- Team-building and problem-solving activities
- Therapeutic and sensory-based activities, including relaxation and mindfulness
These activities are carefully planned to meet the diverse needs of our students, particularly those with SEMH needs, and ensure that all students are able to participate and succeed.
